🚨 New myGov Scam Alert

Another fake myGov text message is circulating, and it's designed to panic you into acting before you think.

This one claims:

"Your myGov account is scheduled for permanent suspension due to incomplete verification."

It then pressures you to "authenticate your identity immediately" and provides a link to a website that has absolutely nothing to do with myGov.

The red flags

🚩 Creates immediate urgency

"Permanent suspension" and "immediately" are designed to stop you thinking.

🚩 Threatens serious consequences

Scammers know fear makes people act quickly.

🚩 Includes a clickable link in an SMS

 This is the biggest giveaway.

myGov does NOT send text messages containing login links.

🚩 Uses an unrelated web address

The link points to qrco.de, not my.gov.au.

What to do

✅ Do not click the link.

✅ Delete the message.

✅ If you're concerned about your myGov account, open your browser yourself and go directly to:

https://my.gov.au

or use the official myGov app.

Remember

Scammers constantly change their stories.

The pattern stays the same:

  •  Urgency before verification.
  •  Fear before facts.
  •  A link before trust.

If someone is trying to rush you, slow down.

That's usually when the scam begins.
